Following are housing developments subsidized by the federal government (HUD) or Dept. of Agriculture) for families earning less than 80% of area median income. For example, people earning approximately $29,950 (for a family of 3) may apply. Some complexes take applications only once a year, and the waiting periods vary. Some may be two years or longer. Rent including utilities costs about 30% of income, depending on family size.
